Abstract:
How do you make decisions in an open source software project? The organizational structure of FOSS projects is quite different from traditional institutions such as companies, governments or NGO’s. These institutions often have described their values, leadership model and division of roles: their governance is described, resulting in clear decision making processes. This is also possible for FOSS projects! Therefore, this talk will cover what governance in FOSS projects is, why it is important and how to apply it practically in RIOT.
