OpenHarmony OS and RIOT: Building a Unified Future for Smart Devices

Biography:

Lazar is a computer scientist and software engineer, previously working at FTN, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Right now, he is working on some cool OS projects at Huawei’s Dresden Research Center.

Abstract:

OpenHarmony is an open-source operating system designed to support a wide range of smart devices through a unified, distributed architecture. This presentation will explore the feasibility of enabling OpenHarmony to support the RIOT OS kernel as an alternative to its existing kernels. It examines the potential advantages of incorporating RIOT, including improved flexibility and support for constrained devices. The presentation outlines the technical motivations, key integration challenges, proposed approach, and the architecture of a prototype implementation.
