Biography:

Christian Amsüss is active in Free Software communities since 2005, and develops with embedded devices and their networks since 2011. His objective is to help paving a way towards a Web of Things in which interoperability can be expected, the user is in control, and which is secure by default.

Abstract:

ETSI TS 103 636, more commonly known as DECT NR+, is a relatively new
radio technology stack that can be used almost worldwide in
technology-exclusive bands around 1.9GHz. Its low latency and high
scaling modes make it the only 5G technology outside the cellular
operator ecosystem, and its built in IPv6 adaption (based on 6LoWPAN)
make it suitable for standards based IoT applications.

In this talk, we take a tour through its capabilities and structure, the
hardware and software implementation ecosystem, and ongoing development.
