This talk will introduce the concepts of ZigBee and demonstrate its new integration into RIOT OS. ZigBee is a protocol used to control and monitor smart devices such as light bulbs, thermostats. It uses the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC and Phyiscal Layer. The code originates from the DSR-IoT company and is currently closed source. I will therefore present a highly updated fork from a prevoisly open-source version. This fork is tightly integrated into RIOT OS and its SubMAC-Layer.
