Abstract:

DNS over CoAP (DoC) is our proposal for secure and privacy-friendly name resolution of constrained IoT devices. Compared to existing solutions, such as DNS over HTTPS or DNS over DTLS, DoC is streamlined for the constrained environment we are aiming for with RIOT while also being able to utilize the rich feature set of CoAP, such as OSCORE and block-wise transfer. In my talk I present the protocol, our implementation in RIOT, and give my impression on the current state of CoAP in RIOT, based on the experiences gathered during the implementation.
